Trial Run and Miracle Meds

Saturday (yesterday) we did a trial run to Labor and Delivery (L&D). After a week of being the sickest I had been in a really long time, I think my body gave up. I was so sore and cramping and called the doctor on-call to ask what to do. I was pretty sure I was not having contractions but I had terrible pain in my back, sides and lower abdominal area. The on-call doc suggested I come on in to L&D. Upon arrival I was whisked away by wheelchair (protocol) and taken to a room. I got all hooked up and monitored and the nurses realized quickly that the baby was perfect and VERY active, it was me that was struggling. My killer cold landed in my lungs and they treated me with bronchitis. How fun is that...NOT! But hey, I was given some miracle meds to stop the cough (that literally was beginning to drown me) and cure the other symptoms. I woke up this morning feeling ten times better already. Good thing considering I have a baby to deliver in 18 or less days. I can't believe we are that close! I have my bags packed (less my everyday essentials), my favors for guests and nurses, a gift for Sofia and the cameras charged and ready. It is go time, especially now that I am on the mend and have suppressed this terrible cough. Plus, I no longer sound like an old, chain-smoking man...I so didn't want my baby to think that was her mommy's normal voice!
